annual Rock 'n Rowl for Kids Bowl-a-thon was held on April 17th. We are
pleased to announce that we were able to raise over $35,000 to help us to continue to provide quality advocacy for abused and
neglected children.
Ways to Help the Chelan-Douglas CASA Program
Become a CASA volunteer!
Looking for a challenging and rewarding volunteer experience? Consider become a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer! CASA volunteers are appointed by the court to represent the best interests of an abused or neglected child during court proceedings. The majority of children represented by a CASA volunteer are in foster care or another form of out-of-home placement and their family is in crisis.
The CASA volunteer investigates and prepares a carefully researched report for the court by talking to the child, parents, social workers, doctors - anybody that is knowledgable about the child's history. To assist with the investigative process, access to all records pertaining to the child are made available.
Following the investigative process, the volunteer makes recommendations to the court regarding services needed for the child and family, as well as temporary and long-term placement. The volunteer is instrumental in searching for options and making sure that the child's case keeps moving through the court and social service systems.
