Rock 'n Rowl for Kids

April 17,  2010

demoThe annual Rock 'n Rowl for Kids Bowl-a-thon was held on April 17th.  We are pleased to announce that we were able to raise over $35,000 to help us to continue to provide quality advocacy for abused and neglected children.

Become a CASA Volunteer!

Make a difference in a child's life.

CASA volunteers are citizens from all walks of life who are trained to advocate for the needs of neglected and abused children in critical court proceedings.

CASA volunteers are thoroughly screened and receive 30+ hours of training on topics including child development, child abuse, sexual abuse, chemical dependency, the court system, cultural diversity and more.  The volunteer commitment is approximately 10-15 hours per month and involves interviewing all parties connected with the case, then writing a report to the court about the findings.  Volunteers are carefully guided throughout the process by the CASA staff and receive continuing education.

"CASA volunteers are an extrememly important part of protecting children in our community.  The work that our advocates do makes a big difference in the life of a child and is a very satisfying experience for the volunteer," explains Sue Baker, CASA Program Director.

Anyone interested in more information about this unique volunteer opportunity should contact the CASA office at 509-662-7350 or email Arlene at arleneg@nwi.net.  For your convenience, applications can be found below for download.
