Rock 'n Rowl for Kids

April 17,  2010

demoThe annual Rock 'n Rowl for Kids Bowl-a-thon was held on April 17th.  We are pleased to announce that we were able to raise over $35,000 to help us to continue to provide quality advocacy for abused and neglected children.

The Christmas Stocking Project

Help make Christmas special for a foster child.

The Christmas Stocking Project is a much-anticipated event here at the Chelan-Douglas CASA Program.  Through the generous donations of toys, clothes, and other gifts from community members and businesses, the Program and its volunteers are able to provide full Christmas stockings to children in the system.

Your stocking will become a child's treasured keepsake!  This is a great project to do with friends, family, or co-workers!

What You Can Do to Help

First, buy or sew a stocking!

Stockings and patterns are availale at The Attic Window Quilt Shoppe (1630 North Wenatchee Avenue) and at the CASA office.  Please also print and attach a delivery tag to accompany each stocking when dropped off at the CASA office.

Next, fill the stocking!

This is the fun part!  Using the provided gift ideas as a guideline, fill the stocking with age-appropriate, unwrapped gifts.  As an example, do you want to fill a stocking for an infant boy? Fill the stocking with stuff like rattles, clothes, or stuffed animals.  Would you rather fill a stocking for a teenage girl?  Makeup, lotions, magazines, and movie passes are great ideas.  No perishables, incinerates or homemade food items, please.  Print a list of hints for stocking stuffers to help you shop:

Finally, drop off the filled stocking at the CASA office

Once your stocking is filled and the delivery tag is attached, it is ready to be dropped off at the CASA office.  Volunteers will then match the stocking and gifts that you provided to an appropriate foster child in our community.
