In honor of Carol Wardell:
Carol Wardell
has donated countless hours to advocate for the fair treatment of
our most vulnerable citizens… our kids! As a Superior Court Judge,
Carol helped start the Chelan/Douglas CASA Program (Court Appointed
Special Advocate). With this program, children involved in
Dependency Actions have their own, individual advocates to speak for
their best interests to the courts.
This
scholarship is a simple way to honor Carol’s strong will and resolve
in seeking a prosperous life for all the kids who have been in
foster or relative care. The goal of this scholarship is to assist
these same children as they become future parents, role models and
leaders.
”No one has yet realized the wealth of sympathy, the kindness and
generosity hidden in the soul of a child. The effort of every true
education should be to unlock that treasure.”
